Privacy policy
What this site collects, what it does not, and what you can do about either.
Last updated 10 September 2026.
This policy covers rosettilane.org and the information handled by Rosetti Lane in the course of running the café, the hire studio and the advisory practice. It is written to be read rather than to be survived, so it is shorter than most.
What this website collects
The site is a set of static pages. There is no account system, no login, no comment form and no shopping cart. Browsing the site does not require you to give us anything.
Our hosting provider records standard server logs for every request — the page requested, the time, the referring page, your browser’s user-agent string and your IP address. These are used to keep the site running and to investigate faults and abuse. We do not use them to build a profile of you.
If you email or ring us, we keep what you send so we can reply and, where you have booked something, so we have a record of the booking. We do not add you to a mailing list because we do not run one.
Cookies and advertising
We use Google AdSense to serve advertising on this site. That involves cookies and similar technologies set by parties other than us, and it is the main reason this page exists. The specifics:
- Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user’s prior visits to this website or other websites.
- Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to users based on their visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.
- Users may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
- Users may opt out of a third-party vendor’s use of cookies for personalised advertising by visiting aboutads.info, or for European users youronlinechoices.eu.
Google’s own description of how it uses information from sites that use its services is at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
Most browsers let you block or delete cookies in their settings. Blocking them will not break this site — the pages are static and work without JavaScript or cookies.
Analytics
We do not run Google Analytics or any other third-party analytics package on this site. If that changes, this section changes with it and the date at the top moves.
Information we hold about customers and clients
For studio hire and advisory work we hold the things you would expect: your name, the contact details you gave us, what we agreed to do, and the invoice. Payments are processed by our payment provider — we never see or store your full card number. Advisory clients’ documents and notes are kept for as long as the engagement runs and for seven years afterwards, because tax record-keeping obligations say so, and are then deleted.
We do not sell personal information. We do not disclose it to anyone except where we need a supplier to do their job (our payment provider, our accountant, our hosting provider), or where the law requires it.
Photography
Photographs taken during a commissioned shoot belong to the person who commissioned them and are not published anywhere without written permission. If you are in the background of a photograph taken in the café and you would rather not be, tell us and it comes down. That has never needed a policy before and it does not really need one now, but here it is in writing.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@rosettilane.org and put the word “privacy” somewhere in the subject line so it does not get lost behind the supplier invoices.
If you think we have handled your information badly, tell us first and we will try to fix it. If that goes nowhere, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes. We do not email people about privacy policy updates because nobody has ever wanted that email.
